“All I ever wanted to be was an artist, in every sense of the word. A creator and a conveyor, the martyr and the motivator. The artist communicates and connects by tapping into one’s senses, sculpting out grand visions of fear or excitement using only a sound. They hold the ability to evoke tears and sensations of wonder while merely gazing at words on a page, and then somehow elicit the same reaction while taking note of a brand new monument or an abstract stream of colors. Art can break down barriers, start revolutions and inspire. It is a universal language, spoken by the artist, interpreted and contorted into however the receiver sees fit. It’s not the responsibility of the artist to define their art, only to create and to be true in doing so. I’m convinced that some are put here to feel deeper; fall harder; lose longer and rise stronger. They are put here to endure things and experience emotion to the extent that others don’t always allow themselves to, so that others will allow themselves to. These are artists. They bring you face to face with it. It is the sole duty of an artist's soul, to experience the array of emotion that this world has to offer, and then be vulnerable enough to reflect them back to the world in the most raw, honest and naked way possible.
